Hasn't anyone heard of birth control?

I see so many of these questions: "Me & my boyfriend are trying to get pregnant..." or "Had a date with some guy, could I be pregnant...? I can't understand why so many unplanned pregnancies occur or why unmarried people "want" to have a baby? Doesn't anyone know how ENORMOUS a responsibility this is? or do they just think its "cool"??
