I want to become an army officer but am not sure about the best way to do it?

I'm enlisting asap because whether i do ROTC or OCS i need the additional monies from the SMP program for ROTC (i have about a year and a half of cles to take to finish a criminal justice 4 year degree). i need the army to pay for the rest of my school and i need a job. i want to enlist, finish with online cles and go through OCS for the employment sake but my recruiter thinks that my credit will hold me back from becoming an officer because of security clearance. he thinks ROTC is my best bet and i wouldnt mind doing ROTC but i'll have a 5 month gap after finishing AIT where i have to find a job in my crapper minimum wage town. not sure what to do. can any smart army lifers help me out?
