You have so many other things going for you: how many people would die to be 8 months away from finishing med school. Don't let this one aspect of your life detract from everything else. Work on growing in virtue and being the best person you can. If you still need healing from your past relationship work on that as well, otherwise it will surface later in any meaningful relationship. Trust can be hard to restore once broken.
